Risk And Control Officer, VP

Our client is a leading investment bank with an impressive track record of growth. They are looking to recruit a strong VP to assist in driving the control agenda for Operations, focusing on governance, accountability and ownership, transparency of information and striving to develop a culture of self assessment and continuous improvement.

The hired candidate will look to build up a strong governance infrastructure to assess and track the Risks associated with the monthly letter of rep / balance sheet substantiation process and sign off on a global level. They will also drive the investigation of outstanding audit points, root causes associated with errors and incidents and leverage lessons learnt to drive change. Part of the role will also involve looking at any deteriorating trends on key control indicators and working with the line managers to assess root cause and develop remediation plans.

You will be a key part of a high profile area of the Bank tasked with the objective of building a robust framework to report/monitor key controls through daily and weekly KPI's, assist in the control of self assessments to review effectiveness of internal control processes and benchmarking the existing control environment against best practices.

To be successful in your application, our client is looking for someone who is a Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant who has knowledge of Investment Banking Products and controls experience ideally. Personality is also key and this person must be able to demonstrate a track record of delivery in their career to date and have the ability and confidence to challenge when necessary, working closely with the Global Head of Operations and other MD's.
