We are world leaders in the exploration, production and distribution of energy and are looking for a qualified crude oil product control lead for a 12 months contract. The successful applicant will be working closely with the Crude Product Control Lead for our international region. Candidates must have crude oil experience.
Key accountabilities: The successful applicant will display strong technical product control expertise, relationship building and influencing skills. The post requires in-depth understanding of trading operations and trading strategies, and the ability to apply financial and accounting skills in a trading environment. The post-holder is the primary point of contact for the Book Leaders and traders, and must manage key relationships with other commercial and functional teams such as Operations, Settlements, Accounts, Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Compliance.
The ideal applicant will have a strong bias for performance and the ability to implement and support change, ensuring a consistently high standard of management information and control within the Crude Product Control Team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Crude Product Control team in providing robust, fit-for-purpose operational controls in support of the trading benches, including daily exposure and P&L reporting, trading DoA monitoring, provision review and approval, MI-MA reconciliations, and stock reconciliations.
- Own the Product Control relationship with the Book Leader to ensure provision of fit-for-purpose controls and enable commercial growth opportunities
- Support new commercial activities and ensure that product control requirements are established and delivered in the assurance process
Required skills and qualifications:
- Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA or relevant experience with special knowledge of application of standards relevant to trading and derivatives
- Proven track record in product control, demonstrating strong understanding of trading activities, the deal life-cycle and the operational control requirements in a best-in-class trading business
- In-depth knowledge of commodity spot and paper markets (OTC and exchange-traded), including derivative instruments
