The Company:
They are a growing and ambitious investment bank, providing trading and structuring & execution expertise in international investment

The Role:
This is a key role within a developing finance team which is committed to provide a first class functionality and be at the forefront of the banks decision making process. You will manage a small team within the financial reporting area of Finance including providing the day to day support and guidance necessary to ensure the development of their competencies. Your role constantly reviews the changes in the IFRS financial reporting regime and advises the CFO of proposed changes. You will evaluate their impact on the reporting structure and workload of the department.

Working closely with all areas of Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Banks local procedures are IFRS compliant. You will work help to develop a robust financial reporting function, including the development of the Banks current data warehouse IT solution to add value to the business. This aids the Banks decision making process while at the same time providing a responsive infrastructure to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Banks financial reporting requirements. You will also assist in the development and implementation of a global financial structure to be dictated by the legal entity structure.

Specifically you will plan, co-ordinate and produce the quarterly IFRS submissions to Group Reporting. You will also plan, co-ordinate and produce the Banks local IFRS reporting requirements including the preparation of the annual report and accounts for the Group. You will also help in the development of a data warehouse reporting IT solution to enhance the financial reporting processes. You will be the representative for Financial Reporting on the Banks new product committee. This will include providing technical accounting advice and ensuring that the IFRS infrastructure is able to capture and report the products accounting entries in a live environment. You will advise business heads on the accounting requirements of proposed new products and determine the impact of such products on the current reporting infrastructure and evaluate and implement any changes required

Who they are looking for:
You must be a qualified accountant with experience of investment banks
You must have excellent knowledge of the current investment banking IFRS regime.
You must have excellent IT skills especially in respect of Excel.
You must be able to work on your own initiative but be a team
You must have previous staff management experience
You must be able to add value to the business and the decision processes within such an organisation
You must have strong communication skills and be able to liaise with senior management on a day to day basis as well as with colleagues in global offices.
