Who they are
Part of a global commodity and trading group, they are a regulated commodity brokerage who provide innovative hedging and risk management tools to a wide range of financial institutions. They develop and execute customised strategies, based on commodity derivatives, to help manage the exposure of their clients to the commodity markets. They offer execution services through the futures and options markets and OTC market. Due to continued expansion they are looking to hire a qualified accountant to report to the COO.

What you will be doing
Reporting to the COO, and managing a team of two, you will have full control of the finance function and work closely with senior management. The role involves the timely preparation and submission of statutory and management financial reporting, production of daily trading P&L and analysing and reconciling trading exposures. There will be corporate reporting including Monthly Management & Consolidation schedules, FSA regulatory reporting (daily reconciliations and monthly reporting), supervising daily treasury movements and bank reconciliations and preparation of statutory accounts and liaison with auditors and Group tax advisers. You will also support the Divisional Finance Director in new projects.

Who they are looking for
They are looking for a qualified Accountant (minimum 3 years post qualification) with an excellent academic record.
You should have gained 3 - 5 years experience within a Bank, Broker or Hedge Fund. You will need to have experience of statutory accounting (preparation of year-end accounts) and if possible a strong regulatory accounting knowledge with actual experience in monthly FSA reporting for an investment firm (FRR). Based Metals experience (LME) would be ideal but other commodities experience or FX or derivatives accounting experience would be useful. Strong computer skills, attention to detail, well organised, ability to work to deadlines is required. You should have enthusiasm, pro-active, team player, self-starter, happy to work within a small but fast-growing trading environment.
