Equity Derivative Control Analyst

Eximius Operations is currently partnered with a global Investment Bank based in Canary Wharf. The Job is for an equity Derivative Control Analyst. The successful candidate will be working in the Middle Office team and be responsible for reconciliations for equity Derivatives. It includes exposure to most Equity Derivative products and internal departments including product control, settlements, technology, documentation and regulators and therefore requires a broad understanding of the businesss products and system framework.

Reconciliation of primary controls within the Front Office including:

GMI Exchange Traded Derivatives
Colt Securities
Finance/Product Control Breaks
FX Breaks

Resolution of all outstanding queries/breaks front to back:

Settlement Queries (cash and stock)
OTC Docs Queries
Booking issues
Working with the various downstream departments including Product Control, Regulatory and Operations to clear downstream issues and create a more robust control environment.
Production of Control MIS to senior Business Management and Business Heads, highlighting break clearance and historical trends.
New Trade Review checking process for trade booking, termsheet verification and structured trade packaging.

This role will give the successful applicant exposure to OTC and Securities products and related breaks. It is an opportunity to work closely with the business and to make an important contribution to the smooth, efficient and controlled functioning of the front and middle office systems and trade capture. The learning curve and scope of this role will allow the candidate to develop in both product knowledge and control understanding.

The ideal candidate should have the equivalent of two years industry experience and should possess a good general understanding of derivatives particularly equity derivatives. A Finance or accounting background could be beneficial, as would relevant product knowledge. Previous experience of control functions and reconciliations is essential.
