EL/PL Claims Handler

A respected City based company has an opportunity for a Liability Claims Handler, on a six month contract basis. The role involves acting for an insurance client under a delegated authority of £50,000 and dealing with EL/PL claims from first advice through to settlement. Our client need someone who will be thorough and accurate, with the patience to help the assured through their claim.

The role would be suitable for someone who has an interest and experience in EL/PL work from first advice through to settlement and who has hands-on claims experience (not solely from a broking background). The successful candidate will know of the 6 pack regulations and will have knowledge of policy issues.

Duties will include:

Correspondence, research and liaison with clients, brokers, claimants and claimants representatives
Instructing Loss Adjusters
Negotiating settlements
Investigating claims
Liaison with Partners and other lawyers

Knowledge, skills and experience

Knowledge and experience of Employers Liability/Public Liability insurance claims is essential
Experience of insurance work would be desirable
Well organised
Flexible
Good interpersonal skills
Effective communicator
Confident and robust
Ability to work with minimum supervision
