Control Project Accountant

This leading Financial Services business is looking to recruit a Project Accountant.
Provide key Finance input into a new Account Control Project. The purpose of the account control project is to set up an overarching control framework over all balance sheet, P&L and off-balance sheet accounts. The framework involves each account in the General Ledger and Sub-Ledgers having an identified owner and controller responsible for reconciliations. Controllers will often be within operations departments and will feed up information on issues and breaks to Finance Internal Control.
Confirmation with other responsible support areas of existing control procedures.
Definition agreement with other responsible support areas of control norms.
Identification and agreement with other responsible areas of any control gaps between existing procedures and minimum control norms.
Working with Finance, Operations and IT to improve data flow processes, the control environment and implementing new processes where necessary.

Good knowledge of financial instruments/arrangements such as derivatives, repo activity.
Experience of a strong internal control framework
IFRS accounting convention knowledge.
Qualified Accountant
At least 3 years relevant experience in a Financial services company
Internal audit background would be beneficial.
Experience of listed derivatives would be beneficial
Experience of Finance change initiatives/account control/substantiation.
