[ Your browser does not support frames ] Account Handler Overall purpose: To work effectively with Managing Agents in order to meet Lloyd's underwriting standards, improve underwriting performance and assist with the approval and monitoring of syndicate business plans. Major responsibilities and accountabilities: Support the Deputy Heads of Underwriting Performance to: Be Underwriting Performance's lead day-to-day commercial partner for selected Managing Agents. Evaluate whether the annual business plans presented by those agents are realistic and achievable taking into account their own capabilities and the underwriting environment. Monitor the actual underwriting performance of the selected Managing Agents' business plans for all open years, taking into account their own business priorities, strategy and approach, address issues as they arise and review ongoing compliance with Lloyd's Underwriting Standards. Where Lloyd's Underwriting Standards are not met, develop a focused strategy to work with selected Managing Agents in order to develop time-bounded action plans aimed at improving a specific agent's ability to meet and exceed Lloyd's Underwriting Standards. Provide input to the Lloyd's Individual Capital Assessment ("ICA") process in relation to the "Insurance" risk category for selected Managing Agents. Work closely with other UP Executives to foster a consistent, constructive and professional dialogue with Managing Agents whilst partnering with them on an equal business footing. Liaise with other Lloyd's teams to ensure that all underwriting performance and standards issues are addressed and communicated effectively to Managing Agents. Support the Underwriting Performance Team Executives to: Be Underwriting Performance's day-to-day interface with selected Managing Agents. Conduct performance reviews at least on a quarterly basis with selected Managing Agents focusing on Underwriting Performance analysis of Core Market Returns to Lloyd's. Establish, maintain and execute Syndicate Action Plans ("SYNAPS") for each selected Managing Agent and maintain SYNAPS database on a day-to-day basis for both "business as usual" activities and specific action plan status input. Input Agent knowledge into the Performance Review Document ("PRD") and Syndicate Risk Matrix, at least on a quarterly basis, to ensure that Lloyd's has an up to date view of each Managing Agent's underwriting capability and performance. Be an active member of "Team Lloyd's" for each Managing Agent, providing input on underwriting related risk to the Individual Capital Assessment ("ICA") process, and supporting the G5 Head for each Franchisee by providing up to date information on underwriting related matters. Work with the relevant Class of Business Executives within the Underwriting Performance Team to identify and address specific underwriting performance issues related to individual Agents and conduct underwriting reviews where directed. Assist with the development and implementation of consistent processes and procedures within the Underwriting Performance Team. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Degree educated, or have relevant demonstrable skills, particularly in Business or Numerate subjects Hold a professional qualification in either; ACII / FCII, Chartered Insurer, ACA, Actuarial or MBA Candidates should have significant experience as an underwriter, insurance broker, actuary or business consultancy Typically the Class of previous Business experience will have focused on Property / Casualty insurance &/or reinsurance Values & Capabilities Strong analytical skills Highly Numerate Experience of working with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word Good oral and written communication skills Good presentation skills Commerciality/ business sense Ability to build effective relationships at all levels internally and externally Effective negotiation skills Flexibility / adaptability Sense of humour
